•There are many reasons as to why women may be seen to commit less deviant crimes than men. Their crimes become ignored within society by basing the traditional assumptions with women rather than noticing their flaws.
•Heidensohn, a feminist sociologist suggests three factors for the invisibility of women:
-Women’s crimes are ignored as they don’t come across as a real social threat. Men’s crimes tend to be more violent and dangerous.
-Women associated crimes lack the same excitement as crimes associated with men, for example stealing is not seen as very interesting.
-Female crimes are also ignored as often the norms and laws associated with women are assumed and stereotyped.
